halloween 2010

this year i was a "fallen" angel.
steve, against his will, photoshopped a picture of himself with devil horns and an evil mustache.
i wore that with a sign that said "the devil made me do it."
i thought it was pretty clever.

more prep

3 movies every "to-be" parent should watch.
not necessarily for advice on babies...but still..
fun-knee.
i plan to watch each of these at least once in the next 2.5 months.
any other favorite "baby movies" you would recommend?

rumbi has a girlfriend

when we went out of town recently rumbi had the chance to stay with our friends. the sanders adopted rumbi's "little sister," ali, from the same neighbor that we got rumbi from.

they were kinda enough to video some of what rumbi was doing while his parents were away... naughty little puppy.

*note that rumbi and ali are not actual siblings. but... more like marsha and greg brady...

deep thoughts...

on pregnancy.

okay, so during first trimester if you would have asked me, i would have told you being pregnant is the worst. but this second trimester thing... i kinda love.

me likey:
  • i love that little bump. i love seeing it. i love when other people see it - everyone smiles at you. it's like an instant friendly understanding. "oh, you're pregnant, you take my place at the front of the line." "you're pregnant? let me hold the elevator for you." (we know that doesn't happen often.. who really wants to be in an elevator with a stranger? but if you're pregnant.. suddenly you are not really a stranger anymore). and i LOVE how steve is just smitten by it. seeing this bump is like the best part of his day.
  • waistband jeans. seriously, ladies. WHY are we not wearing these all day, everyday? pregnant or not. it's like going back in time to your childhood days and the ease of running to the bathroom at the very last second so you didn't miss a minute of play. the waistband really helps with that. but in my case its the frequency more than the missing out thing where the waistband comes in handy.
  • also. buying new clothes. because you have to. i love new clothes. even if they are maternity. also. buying new things. that part hasn't really started yet.. but you know my "want" list is growing everyday.
  • feeling baby kick! this. this. is my favorite. although at times a little strange and uncomfortable i still can't believe those little movements are coming from my {our} lil' one. and to go along with that.. seeing baby kick in the ultrasound! i have no words. it's just simply the most amazing feeling to see her in there...
now for things i could do without:
  • nausea. luckily for me that part ended after week 14. but i still remember it, well.
  • heart burn. this one has only just begun. tums are like candy these days.
  • getting up in the middle of the night. every night. so i can stumble into the bathroom.
  • not being able to sleep like i use to. i know, this is just the beginning.
  • cankles.
one more week and i am officially at 6 months! ka-razy.

california, knows how to party

i was so lucky to have a little weekend getaway with some of my favorite highschool/college friends! we went to irvine, california and stayed in the beautiful thackerary estate. it was so fun to be all together again doing what we do best - eat, laugh and play spit.

the house
the back patio
the kitchen. where cassie worked her magic.
the upstairs media room equip with individual plastic popcorn boxes, movie theater candy, a refrigerated drawer full of cold beverages.
my and rachel's suite
notice how we all immediately dropped our bags to go check out all the rooms. ha.
it felt like college all over again.

while we were there we played at laguna beach. of course.
some of the girls braved the waves on boogie boards...including cassie, who ended up fracturing her ribs!
those waves were serious biz.
we also rented this monstrousity and rode it around the boardwalk.
a 6-{wo}man bike. we were quite the spectacle.
and then there was some shopping.

and with 5 out of the 9 of us being pregnant we did not skimp on the food.
we had delicious meals. everyday. all day.
cassie's famous eggs benedict...

and abelskievers

yogurtland self-serve yogurt. mmmm. with a little sprinkles cupcakes on the side.

and when we weren't eating we were playing games. this picture is us playing heads-up 7-up while waiting to be seated at crystal cove.
so much fun! can't wait for our next reunion.
thanks for all the mems.
